In 2012, Sujoy Ghosh’s Kahaani ended with a surprise twist that caught viewers by surprise. He’s now back with another thriller, this time a short film titled Ahalya.

Based on the mythological character Ahalya from the Ramayana, the 14-minute film stars Radhika Apte in the title role, along with veteran actor Soumitra Chatterjee as her artist-husband Goutam Sadhu (saint Gautama) and Tota Roy Chowdhury as Inspector Indra Sen (the king of Gods, Indra).

The eerie story unravels in Sadhu’s house, when Sen pays him a visit to investigate the disappearance of a man who had last been spotted visiting the artist. The video has gone viral ever since it was posted on YouTube on July 21.
