Honda has a stronghold on the Indian motorcycle market right now and they intend to keep that going with the Rebel 300.
The Rebel 300 is Honda’s offering in the cruiser segment and it looks beautiful. The design is minimalistic mixed with pure retro cruiser DNA and will undoubtedly turn some heads.
The Rebel will come with two different engine options. It will be powered by a 286 cc, liquid-cooled, single cylinder engine capable which churns out about 27.3 PS of peak power and 27 Nm of torque. It will come equipped with a 296mm front disc with twin callipers and a 240mm rear disc with a single calliper setup. You will even have the option for opting for the dual-channel ABS.
Ideally, Honda might just release the 300 to see how it is doing and might release the 500 following it. It will reportedly be built locally so the pricing is expected to be between Rs 5-6 lakh.
The Rebel 300 will probably be the only proper-looking cruiser in this price range. Yes, you do get a range of Royal Enfield bikes and now, even the Jawa. But none of them are designed to be cruisers. Honda will be the first to provide India with an affordable cruiser and we cannot wait to get our hands on this to see how it performs on the road.
