Cashing in on today’s neo-retro trend, Mercedes-Maybach has unveiled a drop-dead-gorgeous concept called the Maybach 6 concept on our shores today. Balancing the modern and vintage aesthetics with ease, the two-door coupe pays homage to the Maybachs of yore while still looking like something out of a Jetson’s episode.
Starting with the design, the concept comes wrapped in a darker, more subtle shade of candy red, further highlighted by its gullwing doors, the signature Maybach front grille, a pair of sleek-looking LED headlamps, along with chrome accents on the sides. Other highlights here include a classic boat-tail rear end, which goes smoothly with the extended bonnet of the car.
Interiors too get the same neo-retro treatment, with the entirety of the front windscreen serving as a display for the driver. Adding contrast to it is the use of premium leather upholstery and crafted wooden inserts. Completing the Vision Maybach’s look are the retro dials.
Propelling the concept from a standstill are four electric motors, putting out a combined output of 750PS. If we were to put the numbers to real-life performance, the concept can do 0-100kmph in less than four seconds. Powering all of this is an 80KWh capacity battery, which offers a range of over 500km.
While this particular Maybach might seem a little too good to be true, we do hope some of its visual elements make their way into future production offerings. Until then, we’re keeping our fingers crossed.
