Electric SUVs, hybrid superstars, sharper scooters and a neo retro dream. India’s auto week had a little of everything

This week in motoring felt like scrolling through a very curated wish list. Maserati brought its first all electric SUV to India, Porsche dropped its quickest 911 Turbo S yet, Kawasaki rolled out a new flagship for the street fighters and Yamaha basically launched half its catalogue in one breath. If your group chat is already arguing about range versus horsepower, consider it normal service.



Maserati Grecale Folgore priced at Rs 1.89 crore

Maserati has announced the price of the Grecale Folgore, the brand’s first all electric SUV. Starting at Rs 1.89 crore, it sits below the Trofeo by Rs 10 lakh and rivals the Porsche Macan EV. Power comes from a dual motor setup that produces 550hp and 820Nm, sending the 2,480kg SUV to 100kph in 4.1 seconds. Range is claimed at 501km and the EV supports up to 150kW DC fast charging.

The updated 992.2 Turbo S has reached India as Porsche’s most powerful 911 yet. The hybrid assisted 3.6 litre flat six now makes 711hp and 800Nm. The numbers are brutal. Zero to 100kph in 2.5 seconds, 200kph in 8.4 seconds and a 322kph top speed. Deliveries start in late 2026 and its natural rivals sit in Maranello and Woking.

Tata has refreshed the Curvv and Curvv EV with new equipment and a dual tone interior. The ICE Curvv now starts at Rs 14.55 lakh for the updated Accomplished trim. The EV begins at Rs 18.49 lakh. Highlights include dual zone climate control, perforated rear seats, sunshades, a new dashboard trim and a fresh cabin theme. The Curvv EV also gets a winged headrest and a raised floorboard for better comfort. Engine and battery options continue unchanged.

 

Kawasaki Z1100 launched at Rs 12.79 lakh

Kawasaki has brought the Z1100 to India, positioned as its new naturally aspirated supernaked. It uses the Ninja 1100SX’s 1,099cc inline four that produces 136hp and 113Nm. The chassis is supported by adjustable Showa suspension and Tokico brakes. Kerb weight stands at 221kg, matching the international model, which is rare for Kawasaki India.

 

Yamaha Aerox Electric revealed

Yamaha has shown the Aerox E, powered by dual 1.5kWh detachable batteries and a 9.5kW motor. Claimed range is 106km and kerb weight is 139kg. It carries over the familiar Aerox silhouette but upgrades to a TFT dash. The boot space is smaller due to packaging changes and the brand has not announced a launch timeline yet.

 

Yamaha EC 06 electric scooter revealed

Yamaha’s River Indie based EC 06 packs a 4kWh battery, a motor with 6.7kW of peak power and a claimed 160km IDC range. The nine hour charge time is long but the scooter offers a 24.5 litre storage area and a sharper, boxier design compared to the Indie. Pricing is yet to be announced but is expected to sit close to the River.

 

Yamaha FZ Rave launched at Rs 1.17 lakh

Adding to the FZ family, the new FZ Rave keeps the familiar 149cc engine and mechanicals but brings new styling. A sharper LED headlight, red wheels and two colour options define the update. At Rs 1.17 lakh, it takes on other 150cc commuters while trying to be the street smart choice in the lineup.

The XSR155 has finally arrived, blending the R15 and MT 15 mechanicals with neo retro styling. The 18.4hp engine, perimeter frame and USD fork have been carried over. The weight drops to 137kg and the look leans fully into the heritage vibe with a round headlamp, teardrop tank and a flat seat. Dual channel ABS and traction control are standard. The only compromise is the LCD dash instead of Yamaha’s newer TFT setup.
