After the launch of the Skoda Slavia 1.0 TSI, the company has introduced the “driver-focused” version of its new Skoda Slavia sedan — the 1.5 TSI variant. The Czech company will offer the Slavia sedan with a manual and DSG. The Skoda Slavia manual is priced at Rs 16.19 lakh, while the DSG version is priced at Rs 17.79 lakh (all prices, ex-showroom).
Cosmetically, the 2022 Skoda Slavia 1.5 TSI looks just like its 1.0-litre counterpart (You can read our review of the Skoda Slavia 1.0 TSI here). It gets the same clean, subtle lines and there’s a large hexagonal grille, with chrome elements. It is flanked by an all-LED headlights setup, along with L-shaped DRLs.
Take a look inside and you’ll notice a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with smartphone connectivity features, such as Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Additionally, there’s also an 8.0-inch digital driver’s display.
Creature comforts here include ventilated front seats, ambient lighting, automatic climate control, rear parking sensors with camera, cruise control and a tyre pressure monitoring system. Safety is taken care of by six airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control and hill hold assist.
Under the hood, the Slavia sedan packs a peppier 1.5-litre, four-cylinder, turbo-petrol engine which makes 150hp and 250Nm of torque. These are the same headlining figures first seen on the first-edition Skoda Octavia RS. For perspective, the 1.0-litre engine makes 116hp and 178Nm.
For the 1.5 TSI engine, the company has added a cylinder deactivation technology, for frugal fuel efficiency. As per company claims, the Skoda Slavia 1.5 TSI can do the 0-100kph sprint in 8.8 seconds, and has a fuel efficiency of 18.72kpl.
