Royal Enfield’s Flying Flea C6 Lands in India and Here’s Everything You Need to Know

Same wartime spirit, no petrol required

After making its debut at the EICMA 2024  (Esposizione Internazionale Ciclo Motociclo e Accessori )motor show in Milan, Royal Enfield’s first electric motorcycle, the Flying Flea C6, has finally landed in India. And in true Flying Flea fashion—named after the lightweight WW2-era motorbike designed to be parachuted behind enemy lines—it was ‘air dropped’ at Delhi’s Dhan Mill Compound, home to some of India’s finest homegrown fashion brands like Napa Dori and Rkive City.

Royal Enfield Flying Flea C6: Launch Date and Price in India?

There are many things that make the C6 unlike any RE bike from the current era, even besides the electric engine. There’s the signature round LED headlamp, a rare-for-modern-times girder fork, a teardrop-shaped ‘tank’ (now a battery casing), and a single-piece scooped seat. The rear seat, for those who like company, mounts just like the one on the Shotgun 650. At the back, the C6 keeps things clean with a braced fender and fender-mounted indicators.

Under the ‘Tank’

Royal Enfield is keeping the performance figures under wraps for now but expect something in the ballpark of a 250-300cc petrol-powered motorcycle—enough to keep the ride engaging without compromising on battery life. It rides on 19-inch alloy wheels, gets disc brakes at both ends, and uses a belt-driven rear wheel. Suspension-wise, there’s a girder fork up front, which as per RE was tested rigorously for our environment, and a monoshock at the rear.

Old-School Aesthetics, Next-Gen Tech

While it might look straight out of a wartime dispatch, the Flying Flea C6 is packed with modern tech. There’s a 3.5-inch circular TFT touchscreen with smartphone connectivity, offering Google Maps navigation, call and SMS alerts, music controls, and remote lock/unlock. The navigation system also calculates how much battery you’ll need to reach your destination based on traffic and distance.

You get five riding modes—Eco, Rain, Tour, Performance and a fully customisable Custom mode (adjustable via a smartphone app). Rider aids include dual-channel, lean-sensitive ABS (switchable at the rear), three levels of traction control, two levels of regenerative braking, and cruise control. There’s also keyless ignition, an emergency safety switch on the tank, and a tamper alert that pings your phone if someone gets too close to your locked bike.

The Flying Flea C6 is just the start. Royal Enfield has confirmed that its new Flying Flea sub-brand will be dedicated to electric motorcycles, with a scrambler-style S6 already in development. Expected to launch in India by early 2026.
