The Cullinan is one of the most hotly-anticipated automobile launches in recent memory

The launch of a new Rolls-Royce model is always a significant event in the automotive world. The entire industry and high-end consumer market holds their breath with anticipation for the introduction of what is inevitably the definitive product in the ultra-high end space.

After a blockbuster debut earlier this month, the luxury automaker’s first SUV, the Rolls Royce Cullinan made another appearance at Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este in the scenic backdrop of Lake Como, Italy.

The Cullinan is not just an SUV; it is a high bodied, all-terrain capable beast. The car is over 5.3 metres long and 2.1 metres wide. It will feature four-seater and five-seater models. It will feature an in-house 6.75 litre V12 with 563 bhp and 850Nm of peak torque.

The car has an off-road mode, the ‘Everywhere’ option designed to take the machine through any type of terrain. The Cullinan can wade into water up to 540 mm.

Torsten Muller-Otvos, CEO at Rolls-Royce, says, Luxury is no longer an urban concept. More and more it is about embracing and experiencing the wider world. Our customers expect to go everywhere in luxury, effortlessly and without compromise, conquering the most challenging terrain to enjoy life’s most enriching experiences, wherever they may be. For this reason, they have asked us to create a Rolls-Royce that offers uncompromised luxury wherever they dare to venture. Cullinan is that car. It is effortless, Everywhere.”
