If buying a MINI Cooper wasn’t enough to make a statement, the BMW-owned brand has launched something today that ought to source up your exclusivity. Called the Cooper SE Charged Edition, the all-electric offering will be available to only 20 customers in the country, with each unit retailing for Rs 55 lakh (ex-showroom).
As the name suggests, the limited-edition Cooper SE gets an interesting Chilli Red paint scheme, with a white-coloured dual-tone roof at the top adding some much-needed contrast. Additionally, similar white accents could also be seen near the round-headlamp assembly, on the tail lights, the door handles, around the logo and on the tailgate handle.
Look a little closer and you’ll also find the Frozen Red Sports Stripes with yellow highlights on the bonnet of the Mini, adding that bit of sportiness. It’s 17-inch alloys to get the same yellow highlight treatment, along with the ‘S’ logo on the grille.
Step inside, and you’ll notice a minimal carbon black contoured upholstery, with leather inserts all around. The yellow accents have made their way inside too, focusing mostly on the start and stop toggle switch, door sills and on the gear lever. Feature-list here doesn’t stray away from the standard offering, consisting of a ‘Wired Package’ for navigation, along with a Harmon Kardon sound system, wireless charging and of course, Bluetooth connectivity.
Under the hood, or rather under the floor, liest the same 32.6kWh battery pack which gives the electric motor an output of 186PS and 270Nm, the same as the standard model. Also similar here is the 0-100kmph sprint time of 7.3 seconds and a claimed range of up to 270km.
