Ola Drops A Teaser That Gives Us A Quick Look At Its Electric Cars
Ola Teases Three New Electric Cars

Elon Musk, are you watching?

After shaking up the e-scooter segment with the S1 and S1 Pro, Ola is now turning its attention to the electric four-wheel space. The company has dropped a teaser for three electric cars at its  ‘Ola Customer Day’ event which took place in Krishnagiri, Tamil Nadu. Let’s take a closer look at what Ola has planned.

The teaser is 20 seconds or so long and gives us a very brief look at what we should expect. For starters, the EVs seems to sport the same minimal yet futuristic design seen on the S1 and S1 Pro scooters. There seems to be smooth lines all over the bodywork, with a rounded-off bonnet at the front.

There’s also a thin line of LED running across the front bumper, connecting the two sleek-looking headlamps. The car appears to sport a sloping roofline, neatly integrating into a stubby boot at the back. Speaking of which, many have pointed out the similarities with the recently launched Kia EV6. Regardless though, the overall design seems to be one that will grab eyeballs.

Apart from the very brief teaser, Ola hasn’t shared any further details about its EVs. However, folks at Autocar India claim that one of the cars will feature a large 70-80kWh battery pack, hinting at a rather impressive range. If we were to guess, the other two models might differ from each other based on their battery capacity. The publication also states that production is set to commence by the end of next year.

It is no secret that Ola has been wanting to explore the four-wheeler EV space for a while now. A few months ago, Bhavish Aggarwal dropped a not-so-discreet tweet hint while replying to a Twitter user. However, he was soon called out by the internet for long-delayed waits on the deliveries of the two Ola scoters.

Overall though, things are looking promising for the Indian EV market. If the company is able to replicate even half the buzz and popularity of the S1 & S1 Pro, the Ola EV might just be “India’s Tesla” we’ve all been waiting for.
