McLaren has updated the Artura with a host of upgrades for 2025, including a power bump, a new suspension, and a retractable hardtop! However, the highlight here comes in the form of the updated 120-degree 3.0-liter V-6 engine, mated to an electric motor, which now produces 700PS of power at its rear wheel, representing an increase of nearly 19PS.
This enables it to sprint from 0-100kmph in just 3.0 seconds, with an electronically limited top speed of 330kmph. To add excitement, the 2025 Artura now comes with launch control and a feature called the "Spinning Wheel Pull-Away" functionality, allowing the stability control to be switched off to showcase the capabilities of RWD sports cars.
Other highlights include improvements in stability, steering feel, and overall handling, along with the addition of carbon-ceramic brakes, paired with lightweight aluminum calipers and revised cooling ducts.
The Spider looks quite similar to the coupe, with the notable exception of its electrically operated hardtop, which retracts in a mere 11 seconds, courtesy of eight electric motors. While the standard hardtop features a carbon-fibre composite panel, McLaren also provides an option for electro-chromatic glass. This innovative glass can transition from opaque—blocking an impressive 99 per cent of sunlight—to transparent with the simple press of a button. Furthermore, the roof can be conveniently opened and closed from outside the vehicle while stationary using the key.
The Spider's interior mirrors that of the existing coupe model, featuring a straightforward steering wheel without buttons positioned in front of a compact display showing essential driving data. McLaren indicates that most regions will receive the bolstered Clubsport bucket seats as standard, while electrically adjustable, heated comfort seats with a memory function will be offered at no extra charge.
Additionally, the Artura now offers optional wireless charging, and all variants are equipped with lane-departure warning and road sign recognition. Adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic detection are also available. It remains to be seen when exactly McLaren India will bring the 2025 Artura to our shores.
