Maruti Suzuki XL6 Launched; Gets A Host Of Changes And A New Engine
Maruti Suzuki’s New XL6 MPV Gets Minor Cosmetic Tweaks And A New Engine

A dash of chrome, new components and more!

Maruti Suzuki has launched the all-new XL6 today, priced starting at Rs 11.29 lakh (ex-showroom). The 2022 XL6 MPV, which will now be offered in three different variants (Zeta, Alpha and Alpha+) gets updates in all departments — cosmetics, features and powertrain.

Starting with the design, things are kept minimal here. Maruti has tweaked the front end of the XL6 with an all-new grille and an extra dash of chrome. Then there are the bigger 16-inch dual-tone alloy wheels also seen on the new Ertiga. The chrome treatment is carried over on the back as well, with a new chrome bar on the tail.

Step inside and you may notice some changes being done to the upholstery as well, including a premium- looking wooden panel on the dashboard. At the centre sits an all-new 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, with smartphone connectivity. Other features include a 360-degree parking camera (only on top-spec variant), voice assistance features and ventilated seats.

Driver and passenger support gets a boost with inclusions like a new telescopic adjustment for the steering wheel, tyre pressure monitoring system, hill hold assist, ESP and new cooled cupholders. Automatic climate control, cruise control, keyless entry and the other features are carried foward.

The biggest change on the updated Maruti Suzuki XL6 is the revised powertrain. Under the hood, the 2022 XL6 packs a 1.5-litre DualJet engine with Maruti Suzuki’s smart hybrid technology (start/stop functionality). It now makes 103hp (down by 2hp) and 136.8Nm of torque (down by 1.2Nm), mated to either a standard 5-speed manual gearbox or a new 6-speed torque converter with paddle shifters.

There’s certainly a lot that’s new here and it demands a close viewing. We’ll be sharing our thoughts on the new Maruti Suzuki XL6 MPV in our detailed road test report. Stay tuned.
