The EV envelope will be pushed to new boundaries this year, with many big-name manufacturers showcasing some of their most luxurious offerings in electric form. From the BMW i5 to the Mercedes-Maybach EQS SUV, here’s a taste of what’s to come.
BYD Seal
Following the Atto 3, BYD will launch its sleek new electric sedan, the Seal, earlier next month. Packed with Cell-to-Body technology for enhanced safety and dynamics, the Seal offers a range of 700km (one of the highest in its segment) and a lightning-fast 3.8-second 0-100kph acceleration.
Mercedes-Maybach EQS SUV
Now, a select few will be able to experience the Maybach SUV in an electric avatar. Retaining the same silhouette as its ICE counterpart, the drop-dead Maybach EQS SUV offers a range of 600km, delivering 667PS of power and 950Nm of torque, enabling a sprint from 0-100kmph in just 4.4 seconds.
Mercedes EQG
In a similar vein, the Mercedes EQG will bring the G-Class SUV design, or rather the “mob boss” aesthetics, into the electric realm. While details are still scarce, it is expected to feature AWD and the unique G-Turn function, which went viral earlier this year.
BMW i5
BMW's i5 promises to elevate the 5 Series lineup with its electric variants, the M60 xDrive and eDrive40. With up to 609PS, 820Nm torque, and a range of up to 582km, the i5 features a luxurious twin-screen interior layout and the option for a fully vegan interior, solidifying its position in the sustainable luxury category.
Audi Q6 e-tron
Audi's Q6 e-tron electric SUV comes with Audi's state-of-the-art Premium Platform Electric (PPE). Offering around 600km of range, advanced infotainment features, and cutting-edge lighting technology, more details on the Q6 e-tron are still awaited.
