After much anticipation, Lexus India finally launched the LM 350h MPV over the weekend, with a starting price of Rs 2 crore, rising to Rs 2.5 crore for the 4-seater Lounge package (both prices are ex-showroom). This makes it the most expensive MPV in the market, surpassing its sibling, the Toyota Vellfire (Rs 1.2 crore).
Sporting a rather inconspicuous design, the MPV features a pair of sleek LED headlamps with vertical housing for the fog lamps. Additionally, you'll notice a large glass housing from the side profile, which also houses the sliding doors for entry. At the rear, there's a full-width LED tail-light setup with Lexus branding on top.
Under the hood, the Lexus LM packs a 2.5-litre, 4-cylinder self-charging hybrid engine that delivers 250PS of power and 239Nm of torque, mated to an eCVT gearbox. Moving to the interiors, the LM boasts recliner seats, a massive 48-inch display, a 23-speaker surround-sound audio system, and a partition between the front and rear compartments.
Additional notable features include fold-out tables, heated armrests, ottomans, multiple USB ports, wireless phone chargers, reading lights, vanity mirrors, a refrigerator, rear glove boxes, and an umbrella holder. Furthermore, noise-reducing wheels and tyres, active noise control, and a digital rear-view mirror have been incorporated as enhancements.
In terms of safety, the Lexus comes equipped with Safety System+ 3, a suite of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) technology. This includes features such as vehicle detection for stationary and preceding vehicles, dynamic radar cruise control, lane departure alert with steering assist, lane tracing assist, automatic high beams, blind spot monitor, safe exit assist, and additional functionalities.
