Mercedes-Benz India has launched its most powerful offering in India yet, with the all-new GT 63 S E Performance. The 4-door coupe which made its global debut back in September 2021 has received a price tag of Rs 3.30 crore (ex-showroom). As per the company, customers of the plug-in hybrid will get their keys handed to them by seven-time Formula One champion, Lewis Hamilton.

Getting into the heart of the matter, the AMG GT 63 S E Performance makes a combined output of 843PS and 1,400Nm, thanks to its 4.0-litre V8 petrol engine and the 204PS electric motor at the rear. This helps it in accelerating from 0-100kmph in just 2.9 seconds, with a top speed of 316kmph.

The coupe comes powered with a 6.1kWh, 400V battery pack which tips the scale at just 89kgs. Mercedes claims it can run on EV-only mode for 12km, with a top speed of 130kmph. Other highlights here include four levels of regen braking, seven driving modes and one-pedal driving under certain conditions.

In terms of design, the AMG GT 63 S E Performance gets the iconic AMG-specific Panamericana front grille, complimenting the smooth bodywork. From the side, you now get to see the new 20-inch or 21-inch alloy wheels, with the rear featuring a new exhaust design and a flap which houses the plug-in charging port.

On the inside, the coupe comes with the firm’s MBUX infotainment system, with many hybrid-specific information gauges such as a range indicator, real-time power consumption, electric motor output and more.

In terms of competition, the AMG GT 63 S E Performance competes against the Porsche Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid, which retails for Rs 2.76 crore (ex-showroom)
