Lamborghini has a habit of teasing petrolheads with incredible concept designs, or track-only vehicles that can only be admired from far without any possibility of taking it on the road. But, you’ll soon see Lamborghini’s brattiest supercar — Huracan STO — on the roads, and yes, it’s as crazy as its admirable predecessors.
Following in the footsteps of other models in the Huracán line-up, the Huracán Super Trofeo Omologata (STO) is yet another powerful addition to that already impressive roster. Drawing inspiration from the Huracán Super Trofeo EVO and Huracán GT3 EVO, the STO is a road-legal hypercar from the Italian carmaker.
Weighing in at 1,339 kg, the STO is one of Lamborghini’s lightest cars yet, thanks to the heavy use of carbon fibre. When it comes to design, the STO is mostly a Huracán. It doesn’t shy out on the speedster elements. Yes, we’re talking about that huge spoiler and that paint scheme.
But what really sets this Lambo apart is what powers it — 5.2-litre V10 naturally aspirated motor. The V10 produces 640 bhp and 565 Nm of peak torque, and helps the Huracan STO sprint from 0-100km in just 3 seconds with a mind-boggling top speed of 310 kmph.
“The Huracan STO is the purest incarnation of Lamborghini Squadra Corse heritage, directly
transferring technologies from the Huracán Super Trofeo EVO and drawing on the Huracán GT3
EVO’s unique accomplishment of winning three consecutive times in the Daytona 24 hours,” said
Automobili Lamborghini Chairman and CEO, Stefano Domenicali.
Maurizio Reggiani, Chief Technical Officer added, “The Huracan STO delivers all the excitement of a beautifully balanced, lightweight and aerodynamically superior super sports car, mirroring the driving feeling and exhilaration of Super Trofeo, and perfectly set up for the world’s most demanding tracks but
created for the road. The extensive technical solutions and intelligence gained from both our Super
Trofeo and GT3 programs has been refined and embodied in the Huracán STO, allowing the pilot
to experience the emotions of a racing driver, daily, in a road-legal Lamborghini super sports car
able to take lap records.”
