Indian Motorcycles has unveiled a brand new tourer, called the Indian Pursuit. It is based on the marquee’s Challenger Bagger model and comes in two different variants – the Pursuit Limited and the Pursuit Dark Horse.
Both the variants are built on the same aluminium frame as the Indian Challenger but feature more touring friendly accessories. This includes heated grips, a cargo trunk, a passenger backrest and a more comfortable touring seat. The only difference here is, the Dark Horse variant comes finished with a blacked-out treatment, with chrome accents sprinkled throughout.
Of course, being an Indian Tourer, the Pursuit comes will all the necessary bells and whistles. This includes a 7-inch fully digital touchscreen instrument cluster with navigation and Apple CarPlay integration through Indian’s RIDE COMMAND+ connectivity feature.
To make things easier on the go, you also get a tyre pressure monitoring system, a powered windscreen, USB charging port, keyless ignition, Bluetooth connectivity and yes, a 200W audio system. Safety and convenience here are handled by cruise control, different riding modes, Smart Lean technology and ABS.
Powering both the motorcycle is the same PowerPlus V-twin, liquid-cooled 1768cc engine, seen on the Indian challenger. It produces 122PS of power and 173.5Nm of torque, mated to a six-speed gearbox.
The Indian Pursuit sits on USD forks at the front and a mono-shock at the back. Again, same as the Challenger. However, the Pursuit comes with an electronically adjustable preload for the rear suspension as optional equipment. Braking is taken care of by four-piston radial callipers at the front and a two-piston one at the rear.
Just like with every other Indian Motorcycle, we expect the company will bring the Pursuit to our shores for a hefty price tag.
