Highly-Anticipated Car Launches Of The Year

From a new Tata car to a swanky BMW, the rest of the year is shaping up good

If you think the automotive action is about to die down, think again. While the first half of the year gave us the Hyundai Creta and the new-gen Maruti Suzuki Swift, the second half of the year is no less exciting. With that said, here are some of the most highly-anticipated launches coming our way. 

 

 

New-Gen Maruti Dzire

Maruti is set to launch the new-gen Dzire following Swift's debut in May 2024. Expected updates include a 1.2-litre petrol engine, 9-inch touchscreen, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, six airbags, and a redesigned climate control system. The Dzire might also introduce a sunroof.

 

Kia EV9

Kia's flagship electric SUV, the EV9, is arriving in India this year, following the EV6. Equipped with a 99.8 kWh battery, it offers a range of up to 680 km and features dual 12.3-inch screens, a 14-speaker Meridian sound system, nine airbags, a 360-degree camera, and ADAS.

 

Hyundai Alcazar Facelift

Anticipated after the Creta facelift, the updated Hyundai Alcazar will maintain its petrol and diesel engines while featuring dual 10.25-inch screens, dual-zone climate control, ventilated front seats, a panoramic sunroof, multiple airbags, a 360-degree camera, and ADAS.

 

Tata Curvv EV

Tata's Curvv EV, a coupe-SUV based on the Acti.ev platform, is expected to offer a range of up to 500 km. It will include a 12.3-inch touchscreen, a 10.25-inch digital driver display, ventilated front seats, a panoramic sunroof, a 360-degree camera, and ADAS.

 

BMW 5 Series LWB

Launching in India on July 24, the new BMW 5 Series LWB targets the E-Class LWB. Measuring 5,175mm in length with a 3,105mm wheelbase, it features 4-zone climate control, quilted upholstery, a 31.1-inch 8K display, and a Bowers & Wilkins sound system. Competing with the upcoming E-Class LWB, it is BMW's second LWB sedan in India.

 

Mercedes EQA

Mercedes-Benz will introduce the EQA in India on July 8, 2024, expanding its EV lineup. The facelifted EQA, revealed last August, sports a sleek design with a signature star pattern grille and full-width light bar. The interior includes a digital driver's display, a 10.25-inch touchscreen, a Burmester sound system with Dolby Atmos, and backlit star patterns.
