Ferrari Keeps Its V12 Symphony Alive with the 12Cilindri

Available in both Coupe and Spider configurations, the V12-powered car will replace the 812 Superfast

In an era dominated by hybrids and EVs, Ferrari has chosen to uphold its V12 tradition with its latest offering, dubbed the Ferrari 12Cilindri (Italian for "12 cylinders," obviously). Serving as the successor to the 812 Superfast, the 12Cilindri will be available in both Coupe and Spider versions, with the Coupe appearing to offer a sportier edge, judging by the specs.

Speaking of which, both models will be powered by the carmaker's flagship 6.5-litre naturally-aspirated V12 engine, emphasizing its "naturally-aspirated" nature. Now revving at 9,500rpm, the 12Cilindri Coupe delivers 820PS of power and 678Nm of torque, translating to a 0-100kmph sprint in 2.9 seconds for the Coupe and 2.95 seconds for the Spider. This difference can be attributed to their respective weights, with the Coupe weighing 1,560kg and the Spider tipping the scales at 1,620kg.

Externally, the 12Cilindri boasts a vintage-inspired design, reminiscent of the 365 GTB/4 Daytona, paying homage to the Gran Turismo cars of the 1950s and 60s overall. According to Ferrari, this design ethos presents a more refined approach compared to the 812 Superfast, with a greater emphasis on clean design lines and muscular proportions.

Inside, the 12Cilindri features a trio of screens: a 10.25-inch infotainment display, a 15.6-inch driver display, and an 8.8-inch display for the passenger. Additional features include capacitive steering wheel buttons, a 15-speaker Burmester audio system, and more. The starting price for the 12Cilindri Coupe in Italy will be €395,000, while the Spider will retail for €435,000. There is currently no indication of whether Ferrari plans to introduce the 12Cilindri in India.
