BMW Updates The X3 With A Few Cosmetic Tweaks, New Equipment, And More!

The 2022 BMW X3 will only be offered in the petrol variant for now

BMW India has launched the updated X3 today. The luxury SUV will now only retail with a petrol mill, with the SportX Plus costing Rs 59.90 lakh and the M Sport variant coming in at Rs 65.90 lakh (all prices, ex-showroom).

The Bavarian company hasn’t tinkered around with the cosmetics that much. For 2022, the X3 gets a revised kidney grille, flanked by sharper-looking headlamps and DRLs along with a new lower bumper. At the back, you get a revised bumper with sleeker LED tail lamps. The X3 sits on 19-inch alloy wheels. However, if you pre-booked the SUV, you get sportier ‘M’-branded rims 20-inch rims.

Take a look inside and you’ll notice a larger 12.35-inch infotainment system (on the M Sport variant), replacing the older 10.25-inch one. Other new additions include a 16-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, a panoramic sunroof, powered front seats, 3-zone climate control, ambient lighting, park assist, and more.

Safety here is taken care of by six airbags, EBS, a 360-degree camera, front and rear parking sensors, and ISOFIX.

While the older model came in both petrol and diesel trims, the 2022 facelift will only be offered in petrol for now. It is powered by the same 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine, which makes 252hp of power and 350Nm of torque, mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox

The new BMW X3 finds itself competing against the Mercedes GLC (Rs 61 lakh-66.90 lakh), petrol-only Audi Q5 (Rs 59.22 lakh-64.09 lakh), and the Land Rover Discovery Sport (Rs 65.30 lakh-67.95 lakh) (all prices, ex-showroom)
