After launching the G 310 RR a couple of weeks ago, BMW Motorrad India has launched four new tourers today – the BMW R 1250 RT, K 1600 GTL, K 1600 Bagger and the new BMW K 1600 Grand America. Apart from head-turning looks and limo-like comfort features, here’s everything you need to know about them.
BMW R 1250 RT | Rs 23.95 Lakh |
BMW K 1600 Bagger | Rs 29.90 Lakh |
BMW K 1600 GTL | Rs 32 Lakh |
BMW K 1600 Grand America | Rs 33 Lakh |
First things first though, all three K-series motorcycles look almost visually identical to each other. They sport the same laid-back, cruiser-like design with tall windscreens you’d have seen on the Honda Gold Wing and the Indian Bagger. In terms of equipment, all three get the same 10.25-inch TFT colour display with integrated map navigation.
Additionally, you also get heated grips and seats, LED headlamps, gear assist, dynamic engine brake control, electronic suspension adjustment, hill control assist, tyre pressure control, type-C USB charging port, traction control and more. The GTL and Grand America though come with a music system as standard while on the Bagger, it is available as an optional accessory.
All three models – the Bagger, GTL and Grand America share the same 1649cc, in-line 6-cylinder engine which makes 162PS of power and 180Nm of torque at just 5250rpm. Mated to a 6-speed transmission, all three get the same riding modes on board – Rain, Road and Dynamic.
Coming to the BMW R 1250 RT, the two-cylinder, 1254cc motorcycle remains largely unchanged for 2022, apart from the new fairing design, LED headlamps and new colours. Mechanically, it continues to make the same 138PS of power and 143Nm of torque at 6,250rpm, mated to a 6-speed gearbox. The 1250 RT is quick on its feet too, with 0-100kmph coming up in just 3.7 seconds, and a top speed of 200kmph.
