BMW India looks like it’s going to have a busy year. The German luxury car manufacturer has announced that it plans to launch a whopping 19 cars and five motorcycles this calendar year. This includes the all-electric MINI and the BMW X4 that we saw early this year. Confirming the news, Vikram Pawah, BMW Group India President said, “The product offensive continues for this year. For this year, we have outlined a total of 24 launches: 19 cars and five motorcycles,”
While BMW is yet to confirm the entire line-up yet, the first Beemer that will go on sale will be the all-electric BMW i4. In terms of motorcycles, we may see the return of the BMW F 750 GS and the BMW F 850 GS, which were pulled from our market after the BS6 norms went into effect.
So far, the Bavarian brand has had an extremely profitable year, with a 25 percent hike in car sales and a 41 percent increase in motorcycles sales in the first quarter of 2022. Although, while speaking to PTI, Pawah confirmed that the global semiconductor shortages have been affecting its supply chain.
Saying, “The supply is currently a little restricted. We could have sold much, much more because we are holding roughly around 2,500 orders for four-wheelers and over 1,500 orders for motorcycles. Literally, you can say it could have been doubled,”
