If the last few weeks of August gave us any indication, it was that the automotive market in India is starting to heat up again. From Tata beginning the month announcing the prices of the Curvv ICE and Jawa launching an updated version of the 42, here’s the low-down of all the action that is coming your way this month.
Tata Curvv ICE
Tata Motors has launched the Curvv ICE, starting at a competitive Rs 10 lakh, with prices going up to Rs 17.7 lakh. With eight variants like Smart, Pure+, and Accomplished S, the Curvv gets more options including a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol, 1.5-litre diesel, and the new Hyperion turbo-petrol engine, all paired with manual or dual-clutch automatic transmissions. Highlights here include a segment-first powered tailgate, panoramic sunroof, and Level 2 ADAS safety features.
Skoda Slavia Monte Carlo
Skoda has introduced the Monte Carlo edition of the Slavia sedan, priced at Rs 15.79 lakh. Known for its sporty black accents and two-tone interiors, it comes with features such as a panoramic sunroof, a digital driver’s display, and a 380W audio system. Available with 1.0-liter and 1.5-liter turbo-petrol engines, the Monte Carlo targets the premium sedan segment, competing with models like the Honda City and Hyundai Verna.
Skoda Kushaq Sportline
Priced between Rs 14.70 lakh and Rs 17.40 lakh, the new Skoda Kushaq Sportline embraces the popular blacked-out aesthetic that seems to be popular in special edition models. It comes with both 1.0-litre and 1.5-litre TSI engines, with manual and automatic transmission options. Features include new black alloy wheels, a Sportline badge, and a sporty interior theme. Skoda has also discontinued the manual version of the 1.5-litre engine.
Hyundai Alcazar Facelift
Hyundai’s three-row SUV, the Alcazar, is getting a refresh with a Creta-inspired interior, featuring dual 10.25-inch screens and dual-zone AC. Powering the Alcazar is a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine and a 1.5-litre diesel unit. Bookings are open for Rs 25,000, with safety features like six airbags and Level 2 ADAS.
MG Windsor EV
Set to launch on September 11, the MG Windsor EV, a rebadged Wuling Cloud EV, is expected to boast a range of up to 460 km. With a minimalist design, the electric crossover will offer a 15.6-inch touchscreen, panoramic roof, and digital driver’s display. Bookings are open at select MG dealerships.

Mercedes is set to debut the all-electric Maybach EQS 680 SUV, a blend of luxury and performance. With an MBUX Hyperscreen and dual motor setup, this ultra-luxury SUV aims for a range of around 600 km, marking a rather new and interesting era for the Maybach line.

Equipped with a 334cc, single-cylinder engine delivering 29.2PS, it features anodised cladding, dual upswept exhausts, and six colour options.
