Bentley Bentayga EWB SUV Unveiled; Expected To Make India Debut Soon
Bentley Bentayga EWB Is A Part Spa And Part Luxury Lounge On Wheels

Despite its appearance, the lounge on wheels can still do 0-100kmph in 4.5 seconds

In a world where cars are getting cleaner and more economical, Bentley appears to have gone the opposite way. The British marque has unveiled the Bentayga EWB (Extended Wheelbase), a part spa and meeting room on wheels.

Designed for the comforts of industry titans, the Bentayga EWB is being touted as the spiritual successor to the Bentley Mulsanne, the former flagship which went out of production in 2020. But unlike the Mulsanne, which was a stretched-out saloon, the Bentayga EWB remains true to its SUV roots.

The biggest update here comes in the form of additional wheelbase, which is now up by 180mm and currently stands at 3,175mm. All of this extra space is now utilised by two first-class aeroplane-like seats, which can be reclined up to 40 degrees and offers complimentary massages.

But that’s not it, the company has also added something called an “advanced postural adjustment system,” which continuously changes the shape of the seat around your body. Then there’s the new auto-climate zone technology, which monitors the occupant’s body temperature and surface humidity, to control the ambient temperature and airflow of the cabin.

To really make the cabin your own, the company claims the interior trim can be customised with 24 billion combinations. This includes Bentley’s ‘diamond illumination’, a form of finish which makes use of background lighting to highlight the trim patterns on your seat.

This all comes obviously as an optional extra. In case you don’t want to spend the extra pounds, there are the four & five-seat ‘Comfort’ spec options, which allow you to fold the rear row. The EWB doesn’t come with a seven-seat configuration, despite its size.

Under the hood, you’ll find the same 542PS, twin-turbo V8 motor seen on the standard Bentayga. It does miss out on the brawnier W-12 motor seen on the top-spec variant. However, the V8 motor still makes enough power to propel this spa-on-wheels from 0-100kmph in 4.5 seconds. Also new here is the addition of rear-wheel steering, for better manoeuvrability

Considering the rising popularity of Bentley among the Indian elites, we expect the Bentayga EWB to debut on our shores soon.
