Audi has introduced a ‘Premium’ variant to its A4 luxury sedan line-up. With this addition, the A4 sedan is now available in three trims—Premium, Premium Plus and Technology. Priced Rs 39.99 lakh (ex-showroom), the entry-level A4 Premium is Rs 3.70 lakh lower than the Premium Plus variant.

Under the hood of the Audi A4 is a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine making 190hp and 320Nm of torque, mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox with power sent to the front wheels.

On the exterior, the new sedan gets LED headlights with signature DRLs and LED rear combination lights. Moving to the interiors, the A4 Premium is equipped with a 10.1-inch infotainment touchscreen and Audi’s sound system, driving modes, an electric sunroof, single-zone automatic climate control, a wireless charger, cruise control with speed limiter, single-colour ambient lighting, front seats with electric adjust and 4-way lumbar support, six airbags, front and rear parking sensors, and a rear parking camera.

However, being an entry variant, the Audi A4 Premium loses out on a few features available on the top Technology trim, such as the carmaker’s Virtual Cockpit Plus digital instrument cluster, multi-zone climate control and gesture-control boot opening.

The Audi A4 rivals include the BMW 3 Series, the Mercedes-Benz C-class and the Volvo S60.
