ROLLS-ROYCE CULLINAN
The engineers at the British luxury carmaker’s R&D offices have been working for close to half a decade to come up with this maiden Rolls-Royce SUV, which was unveiled last month. Named after the biggest flawless diamond found in Africa, the Cullinan runs on a 6.75-litre, twin-turbocharged V12 (570 bhp and 850 Nm) and slots into the space between the Ghost and the Phantom. BENTLEY MULSANNE
One of the most expensive cars on sale in India, the Bentley Mulsanne operates in the Rolls-Royce stratosphere. This particular set of wheels has been tailor-made to offer an amalgam of high refinement, performance and luxury. The standard variant is powered by a 6.75-litre V8 mill that churns out 505 bhp and an unbelievable 1040 Nm of torque, when mated to an eight-speed automatic ZF transmission. It can do a 100 kph sprint from a dead halt in 5.1 seconds, and has a top speed of 296 kph.

FERRARI 812 SUPERFAST
The Ferrari Superfast is, well, super fast. Ferrari claims a 0-100 kph time of a scant 2.9 seconds, and a top speed of 340 kph. The latest in a long line of front-engined, rear-wheel drive V12 Ferrari GTs, the 812 Superfast is a replacement for the F12 Berlinetta. A 6.5-litre naturally-aspirated V12 petrol engine beats at the heart of the supercar, to produce around 800 bhp of power. It’s also the most expensive supercar in the country right now.

MERCEDES MAYBACH S650
The new Maybach sits right at the top of the S-Class lineup from the brand with the three-pointed star. The Maybach S650 is essentially a long wheelbase that replaces the S600 in India. Launched recently, it tops the new Maybach S560, the Maybach S500 and the S600. It gets a 6-litre V12 biturbo engine that makes close to 620 bhp and a gargantuan peak torque of 1,000 Nm. The engine comes mated to a 7-speed automatic transmission.

LEXUS LS 500H
Toyota’s luxury division also launched its most premium offering in the country earlier this year, in the form of the Lexus LS 500h. Like most of its offerings in the country, it is also a hybrid model that will be imported as a CBU (Completely Built Unit). Powering the luxury sedan is a 3.5-litre V6 petrol engine, which, along with two electric motors, churns out a combined output of 350 bhp. Power is transmitted via a 10-speed automatic transmission, to shove the car from 0-100 kph in 5.2 seconds. The 5.2m long car comes with ample space for both front and rear occupants and has distinct features like 28-way electronically adjustable seats.
