New Toyota Glanza Launched: What's New And What's Borrowed From The Baleno
2022 Toyota Glanza Launched; It’s More Than Just A Facelift With New Looks And Improved Fuel Efficiency

Prices for the new Toyota Glanza hatchback start from Rs 6.39 lakh, and goes up all the way up to Rs 9.69 lakh (all prices, ex-showroom)

It’s been a long wait but Toyota has finally launched the all-new Glanza for 2022. The Toyota Glanza isoffered in four different trims: E, G, S and V, mated to either a manual or an automatic transmission. Pricing starts from Rs 6.39 lakh and goes all the way up to Rs 9.69 lakh (all prices, ex-showroom).

For 2022, the Maruti Suzuki Baleno counterpart comes with a Toyota Camry-like front grille finished in chrome. It also gets LED headlamps and DRLs. Overall, the proportions and silhouette of the 2022 Toyota Glanza are identical to the new Baleno. However, there are a few subtle differences here, like the 8-spoke alloy wheels, instead of the 10-spoke as seen on the Maruti.

The interior of the Toyota isn’t a huge departure from that of the Maruti. The main difference is that the Glanza gets a black-beige interior, instead of Baleno’s black-blue offering. Apart from this, the upholstery and features are on par. This includes a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, revised centre console and steering wheel.

The Glanza for 2022 now gets a head-up display, as seen on the Baleno. Additionally, you get a 360-degree camera, autozone climate control, keyless entry, auto-LED headlights and more. Safety here is taken care of by six airbags and electronic stability control.

Powering the 2022 Toyota Glanza is the same 1.2-litre DualJet petrol engine seen on the Baleno, which makes 90hp of power. It can be paired with either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT transmission, ditching the CVT found on the earlier model. Toyota claims the new Glanza offers a fuel economy of 22.3kpl and 22.9kpl on the manual and the AMT transmission, respectively.

The 2022 Toyota Glanza will be offered in five different colour options: Cafe White, Enticing Silver, Gaming Grey, Sporting Red, and Insta Blue. It’ll compete against the Honda Jazz, Tata Altroz and the Hyundai i20.
