Citroen India has confirmed that it’ll be driving in the updated C5 Aircross to our shores soon. The facelifted model, which was globally unveiled in January, will launch in India in September.
So, what’s new here? For starters, changes are limited to only the design and cosmetic front. This doesn’t come as a surprise considering the brand introduced the SUV only last year in March of 2021.
Coming to the design bits, the French brand has made some notable changes to the front, which include replacing the two-piece grille and split headlamps with a larger single-piece unit. It now looks more in line with the rest of the design of the car, with smooth flowy lines all over the bodywork. At the back, the tail lamps have been tweaked a bit along with the bumper. Completing the look are the new set of alloys
Step inside, and you’ll find the 8-inch infotainment system being replaced by a bigger 10-inch model. This has led to a couple of things being moved around, namely the air-con vents which now sit below the console. But what really takes the cake here is the focus on comfort. The updated C5 Aircross now gets updated seats, along with better heating and ventilation.
Powering the SUV is still the same 2.0-litre diesel motor, which makes 177hp mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. It should be noted that Citroen sells the C5 with multiple different engine options abroad, but alas our wait remains.
Currently, the Citroen C5 Aircross is priced at Rs 32.74 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). With the whole host of changes, expect a couple of lakhs to be added into the max. Once launched, the premium C5 Aircross SUV will go up against the Jeep Compass, Volkswagen Tiguan, and the Hyundai Tucson.
