Andy Murray shocked the entire world after beating Thanasi Kokkinakis in the second round of the Australian Open 2022. Murray cancelled a two-goal deficit to win what turned out to be the longest match of his career.

No one envisioned Murray to outlast a much younger player in a five-setter. But he has done that twice in a row, and that too with a metal cap in his hip from the last surgery.

September 2017: Hip SurgeryA month after pulling out of the US Open, Murray announces he is considering a hip injury and is likely to miss the rest of the year.

January 2018: Successful Surgery And Comeback PlanMurray tries to force a comeback in the Brisbane Open but in vain. A few days later, Murray revealed he has undergone hip surgery in Melbourne and intended to return for the Wimbledon.

June 2018: Comeback At Queen's Club Murray couldn't make it to Wimbledon. But he does play at Queen's Club, which was his first professional match in 342 days. Murray loses to the Australian Nick Kyrgios 2-6 7-6 (4) 7-5 in the first round.

January 2019: Murray Breaks DownMurray broke down and reveals his retirement plan. He loses to Roberto Bautista Agut in the first round at Melbourne, and receives a warm farewell from fellow players.

Murray's Second Wind In 2022The year 2022 was when Murray's second wind as a tennis player kicked off. He was regular in ATP tournaments, and tried to play as much as he could, and even challenged the top-ranked players. He also reached ATP final that year, his first since 2019.

Australian Open 2023: Into The Third RoundNo one would have expected Murray to pass beyond the first round, as he was pitted against Matteo Berettinni, the fearsome Italian with a big forehand, and powerful groundstrokes. Murray, however, proved everyone wrong, and he into to third round.
