New-age filmmakers are often on the lookout for ways to up the surprise quotient of their movies. And, well, throwing an unexpected cameo into the mix is a surefire way of doing so. Here are five cameo roles that we clearly didn't see coming, but are now glad that it happened.

Kartik Aaryan in Tu Jhoothi Mein MakkaarFans couldn’t stop raving about his performance in this Ranbir Kapoor- Shraddha Kapoor starrer. His special 5-minute performance in the romantic entertainer was labeled 'power-packed' by fans.

Salman Khan In PathaanViewers had an inkling of a potential reunion of the two Khans in Pathaan. And, when the much-awaited scene unfolded, it turned out to be a visual spectacle. Rumors are rife that SRK  might be doing a cameo in Sallu bhai's upcoming film, Tiger 3.

Anushka Sharma In QalaA stellar creation by Sharma's production house, Clean Slate Filmz, Qala centers on the tumultuous relationship between a daughter, who is an aspiring singer, and her overly critical mother. The movie struck a chord with the audience, who were surprised by Sharma's surprise cameo.

Deepika Padukone in BrahmastraJust a glimpse of her in Brahmastra kept fans wanting more. Padukone was shown as the birth mother of Shiva (Ranbir Kapoor). The next installment is expected to release in 2025, and a little birdie tells us that Padukone will be seen in a meatier role.
