Everything You Need To Know About India’s Most Affordable Laptop, The JioBook

After initially unveiling it at the India Mobile Congress (IMC) event, Reliance Jio has officially launched its first-ever laptop today for Rs 15,799. This is slightly lower than its asking price of Rs 19,500.

Interested buyers can get the device through the Reliance Digital Store. While there is no word on in-store purchases, we do reckon it’ll be available eventually.

As an introductory offer, buyers can avail an instant discount on several banks, including flat Rs 5,000 off on credit card EMIs.

Coming to the laptop itself, the JioBook is mainly aimed at students and those who are looking for an affordable alternative for non-intensive use. Don’t expect bleeding-edge specs here.

It comes with a respectable 11.6-inch HD display (1366×768 pixels), with a rather broad bezel around it and a 2-megapixel camera at the top.

The JioBook runs on a custom “JioOS,” which is based on Android. However, there’s support for Microsoft 365 apps as well.

Running the show here is Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 SoC, backed by the Adreno 610 GPU. It gets 2GB of ram and standard 32GB of MMC storage, which can be expanded to 128GB.

Powering it is a 5,000mAh battery, which promises to offer 8 hours of backup on a single charge. Other highlights here include a 3.5mm audio jack, Bluetooth 5.0, Wi-Fi Wi-Fi – 802.11 ac, 4G LTE, USB ports, an HDMI port, a combo port, and an SD card slot.
