TANGERINE (2015) After realising that her boyfriend/pimp cheated on her while she was in jail, a transgender sex worker sets out with her best friend to teach her ex and his new lover a lesson. While the plot makes it sound like a revenge-fest, the Sean Baker movie is actually an old-fashioned comedy at heart.

KLAUS (2019) From the co-creator of Despicable Me comes an instant Christmas classic. Klaus, starring Jason Schwartzman, J.K. Simmons, Rashida Jones, Will Sasso in the lead focuses on the genesis of Santa Claus through an unlikely ally. Beautifully hand-drawn animation, a heart-warming narrative and a humorous cast makes this one for the ages.

THE NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS (1993)Stop-motion animation and a plot involving the kidnapping of Santa Claus, need we say more? While Klaus may have the potential to be a classic, The Nightmare Before Christmas is already a classic, thanks to its visual-stunning imagery and a quirky script.

LITTLE WOMEN (2019)It wasn’t an easy task to adapt the novel or even follow in the footsteps of the 1994 film, but somehow Greta Gerwig managed to exceed the expectations, with 2019’s Little Women. Consisting of an ensemble cast of Emma Watson, Saoirse Ronan, Florence Pugh and more, this one should be on the top of your queue.
