BMW India has launched a new variant of its X3 SUV, the xLine for Rs 67.5 lakh. This a follow-up to the 20d M Sport which was launched earlier this month for Rs 69.90 lakh (all prices, ex-showroom).

Both the SUVs get somewhat some design and powertrain options. However, unlike the M Sport, the focus on the xLine here is geared towards comfort. As mentioned earlier, the X3 x Line gets the same updated BMW design theme, with the iconic kidney grille at the front which is flanked by an adaptive LED headlight set-up.

The rear too gets a sculpted look with tail lamps which extend from the D-pillar to the boot. This is a slight design change from the sportier front and rear bumpers seen on the M Sport variant.

Also different here are the 19-inch alloy wheels instead of the 20-inch units seen on the M Sport variant.

In terms of features, the xLine retains the panoramic glass roof along with a Harman-Kardon sound system and a 12.3-inch infotainment system. It missed out on the heads-up display and 3D camera seen on the M Sport.

Power here comes from the same 2.0-litre, four-cylinder turbo-diesel motor which makes 192PS of power and 400Nm of torque, mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. BMW claims the X3 can do a 0-100kmph sprint in 7.9 seconds with a top speed of 213kmph

In terms of rivals, the BMW X3 xLine will compete against other luxury SUVs such as the Audi Q5, Range Rover Discovery Sport and the Volvo XC60.
