All-Electric Volvo C40 Recharge Unveiled; How Much Will It Cost?

Adding to its expanding lineup of EVs, Volvo India has unveiled the C40 Recharge in India today.

The second all-electric car from Volvo apart from the Volvo XC40 Recharge, the C40 Recharge will be locally assembled at its Hoskote facility near Bengaluru and is expected to be priced competitively.

The EV has been available in the international market for a while now and sports a coupe-like sloping roofline, with a closed-off panel at the front along with hammer-styled LED headlamps.

In terms of features, the C40 Recharge gets powered and ventilated front seats, a powered tailgate, a 9.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system a 12-inch driver’s aid display, a 13-speaker Harman Kardon-derived audio system and more.

Built on the same CMA platform as the XC40 Recharge, the C40 will be offered in a single dual motor AWD option which makes 405PS. This is the same powertrain seen on the XC40 Recharge as well.

However, Volvo claims the C40 Recharge will offer more range at 530kms, thanks to its 78kWh battery pack. The EV  can also sprint from 0-96kmph in an impressive 4.7 seconds., around 0.2 seconds faster than the XC40 EV

In terms of topping up, Volvo claims a charging speed of 10 per cent to 80 per cent in 37 minutes via its 150kW DC fast charger.

We expect the Swedish company to charge around Rs 50 lakh (ex-showroom) for the all-electric SUV
