Three watches that capture in both form and substance the Italian House of Bulgari’s devotion to `L’Estetica della Meccanica’ or the art of in-depth innovation, wherein aesthetics are inseparable from functionality
Octo Finissimo S Chronograph GMT Steel
This new Finissimo chronograph is equipped with an automatic ultra-thin calibre BVL 318 with a peripheral rotor (3.30 mm thick). Blending sporty practicality with mechanical complexity, this ultra-modern timepiece is available in satin-polished steel with a new blue sunray dial paired with silver counters for a more sporty chic look. Its ingenious mechanism allows the display of a second time zone on the sub-counter at 3 o’clock. The local time zone is adjusted through the push button at 9 o’clock. An integrated vertical brushed steel bracelet complements the 43 mm octagonal case (8.75mm thick). Reaffirming the sportier character of the Octa Finissimo S line, the watch features a large screw-down crown to ensure water resistance up to 100 meters. 55-hour power reserve.
Bulgari Aluminium GMT
The first luxury watch made of aluminium and topped by a rubber bezel, the original Bulgari Aluminium GMT became a legend in the late 1990s with its look and feel: urban, disruptive, and imbued with ‘cool attitude.’ The 2021 version has retained the essential attributes of the watch’s identity– 40 mm aluminium case, blue bezel and rubber strap. The most significant change is the addition of the GMT function. The home time is indicated via hours and minutes hands pointing to the markings on the inner dial zone, while the local time is displayed by a red-tipped hand positioned on the 24-hour outer scale of the dial. It is divided into two different coloured zones of 12 hours each. The circular track serves to adjust and distinguish between day and night according to the time zone. All settings are simple to perform using the crown. The mechanical automatic winding movement has a power reserve of 42 hours.
Octo Finissimo Perpetual Calendar Titanium & Octo Finissimo Perpetual Calendar Platinum
After exploring ultra-miniaturisation and setting six world records for the thinnest watches in the world, including those for automatic movement, minute repeater, chronograph and tourbillon, Bulgari has now created the world’s thinnest perpetual calendar. The two variations – in titanium and platinum – come in a 40 mm case that is just 5.8 mm thick, achieved by slimming down the automatic BVL 305 Caliber movement to an unbelievable 2.75 mm thickness. To do this, the movement design engineers had to devise new solutions, such as using a micro-rotor and the optimal use of the space between the 408 components of the watch without reducing their dimensions. And despite its minuscule size, the movement powers the hours and minutes hands along with all the perpetual calendar functions: retrograde display date , day, month and leap years. They are adjusted using three correctors: one for the date at 2 pm, the month at 4 pm and a third for the day between 8 and 9 o’clock. The titanium version comes with a sandblasted titanium dial that is just 0.3 mm thick and a titanium crown, while the platinum model is equipped with a blue lacquered and white gold crown. 60-hour power reserve.
