The upcoming Phillips Hong Kong Watch Auction XIX promises to be a must-watch event for horology enthusiasts, with an impressive lineup of both wristwatches and rare clocks. This auction, happening on November 23–24, 2024, at Phillips’ Asia headquarters, will feature iconic pieces from prestigious watchmakers like Patek Philippe, Rolex, Cartier, and Richard Mille. Among the highlights are Cartier’s Art Deco clocks, including the stunning La Pendule Écran, crafted from green jade and yellow gold, and the rare Modèle A Mystery Clock, which features floating hands within a crystal face—a testament to Cartier’s ingenuity in blending high art and horology.
The wristwatch collection includes the Patek Philippe Ref. 1518, a yellow-gold perpetual calendar from 1945, alongside other standout Patek models like the Ref. 1463 pink gold chronograph and the Ref. 5213G-001, a minute-repeating perpetual calendar. Rolex fans will also have their eyes on the Ref. 6265 Oyster Cosmograph “Oman” from 1974, a rare version of the iconic Daytona known for its Middle Eastern provenance. Additionally, the Richard Mille RM59-01 Tourbillon, designed in collaboration with Olympic sprinter Yohan Blake, offers a unique combination of performance and aesthetic, and it will be auctioned along with a signed pair of running spikes from the champion athlete himself.
Phillips is taking this showcase on a global preview tour, with stops in major cities like Singapore, Taipei, Geneva, and Hong Kong, allowing collectors worldwide to see these pieces up close. As the demand for vintage and unique watches continues to soar, this auction represents an opportunity for collectors to acquire some of the most storied and technically advanced timepieces on the market.
