The Roland-Garros Opening party, presented by Rolex, was hosted at the historic Imperial Hotel in New Delhi to celebrate the alliance of the two brands. This event came to India after taking place in China and Brazil before.

Roland Garros is one of the oldest, most noble and prestigious tournaments in the history of tennis. It is organized by the French Tennis Federation and is the only tournament that is played on clay. The 2018 tournament witnessed more than 480,000 spectators and was broadcasted in 224 countries worldwide.

Taking place just a few weeks before the Grand Slam, the exclusive party was the perfect platform to announce the collaboration and launch of the 2019 Roland Garros season.

In Brazil, the party was attended by three-time winner of Roland Garros, Gustavo Kuerten, who is also Grand Slam’s ambassador since 2018. The party took place in the residence of French Consul in Sao Paulo. After Brazil, the party moved to China where it was attended by Li Na, representing Rolex and then Jin Dong, who has been Roland Garros’ ambassador in China since last two years.

The legendary tennis star and Rolex Testimonee, Vijay Amritraj, was present and speaking on the occasion, he said, “Roland Garros has always been one of the pinnacle tournaments and their partnership with Rolex is a great marriage of brands which exude the same DNA of excellence. I am happy to be a part of this in India celebrating their new association. I also look forward to some stellar performances as we launch the 2019 Roland-Garros season.”
