British actor embodies elegance, is admired for his masterful performances in film and television
Storied Swiss watchmaker Longines, known for its elegant, beautifully-crafted timepieces, has announced that British actor Rege-Jean Page is now its new ambassador of elegance. ‘Page has an elegance that transcends borders and generations and an effortless sense of style,’ Longines said in a press statement.
The 33-year-old Page is known for his Emmy-nominated performance as the Duke of Hastings in Netflix’s very successful period drama, Bridgerton. While he’s been widely praised for his performance in this TV series, Page will also star in the eagerly anticipated Dungeons and Dragons movie (expected to be released in 2023) and is said to be in the running to play the next James Bond. Certainly, exciting times are ahead for the actor.
‘An actor with Rege-Jean’s talent, poise and presence only comes along a few times in a generation. He has already accomplished so much but it is clear that this is only the beginning of what will be a magnificent career. It’s fair to say that he redefines elegance and all of us at Longines are excited to welcome him to the family,’ says Longines CEO Matthias Breschan.
‘It’s simple, really. Longines makes such beautiful watches. There is something very special about being able to work with things that bring beauty to the world,’ says Page, who is happy and excited to be an ambassador of elegance for Longines. The actor, whose name is included in this year’s Time100 Next list of most influential people – emerging leaders shaping the future – believes he’s capable of elegance and likes to hold himself to a standard of elegance. ‘That means carrying myself with a certain consciousness. Part of that is generosity and living in a way that is helpful to other people. In doing that, you can bring more beauty to the world,’ he says.
