For 2022, Blancpain presents two new interpretations of its iconic Fifty Fathoms Bathyscaphe Quantième Complet models. The new watches include a red gold version complete with a blue-gradient dial and another titanium version with an anthracite dial. Both of these models bring together two emblematic Blancpain universes; the sporting DNA of its famous Fifty Fathoms diver’s watch and the brand’s traditional complete calendar complication with moon phases.
The new models of the iconic Fifty Fathoms Bathyscaphe Quantième Complet signifies the Bathyscaphe that was created in 1956 with the aim of offering a diver’s watch whose size would make it a suitable accessory for everyday wear. Since then, it has become one of the mainstays of the popular Fifty Fathoms collection. Throughout the years, the watch has evolved until it was reinterpreted by Blancpain in 2013 to mark the 60th anniversary of the Fifty Fathoms collection.
When talking about the overall design aesthetic of the 2022 models, these new timepieces reinforce the principle of everyday utility. It combines sporty features with a complete calendar and moon phase complication making it the perfect to add to your watch collection as an everyday watch. The watch comes in a 43mm red gold or grade 23 titanium case. The former houses a sunburst blue-gradient dial that catches light with remarkable ease. It is further complimented with gold hour-markers, hands and moon that matches the case colour. The immaculately design is framed by a unidirectional rotating bezel with a brilliant blue ceramic inlay featuring a Ceragold time scale. This theme of matching the colour and material of the watch continues on the back of the timepiece which showcases a red gold oscillating weight.
The titanium version, similar to the red gold version, is beautifully designed by offering a combination of subtle shades of grey. From the sunburst anthracite dial to the anthracite ceramic bezel that is satin-brushed for a resolutely contemporary matt effect and bears a graduated Liquidmetal™ scale, each part of the dial symbolises the brand’s expertise in creating masterpieces. Furthermore, the subtlety of the grey theme of the watch is enhanced with the help of gold hour-markers, rhodium0plated hands and moon. Each of the two case structures is water-resistant to 30 bar (approximately 300m) and features a dial with a beautifully designed moon phase indicator positioned at 6 o’ clock.
The Blancpain Bathyscaphe Quantième Complet is powered by the 6654.P automatic movement equipped with a date mechanism with a security system. This means that the owner of the watch will be able to handle each indication at any time, without any risk to the movement, unlike the usual calendar watches.
The two models are available in a blue NATO or sailcloth strap for the red gold version and a titanium bracelet or a grey NAT or sailcloth strap for the titanium version.
