The Chicken Sanju Baba at Mumbai’s Noor Mohammadi Hotel is, perhaps, the most well-known food-dishes named after celebrities. Another iconic example would be a cocktail called Shoaibtini which was the name of Akshay Kumar’s character in Once Upon A Time In Mumbai Dobaara! 

 

This list has continued to grow and the most recent one to join it is none other than Deepika Padukone. During her recent visit to the U.S with husband Ranveer Singh, the couple headed to an Indian restaurant during their stay in Austin, Texas.

The restaurant named, ‘Dosa Labs’, has named a dosa after the actress and it has sparked a major conversation on social media. It turned out that the dosa isn’t the only dish that has been named after the actress. A restaurant in Pune has named a parantha thali after her as well.

 

Dishes named after celebrities are very common in these times. There’s also the Chiru Dosa, named after Telugu actor Chiranjeevi. That dosa is a fluffy, steamed dosa made without oil. Numerous recipes of the Chiru Dosa, which is said to have originated in Chiranjeevi’s home in Hyderabad.
