“The Elden Ring. Oh, the Elden Ring” has been echoing in every nook and cranny of the internet, ever since From Software announced Hidetaka Miyazaki’s next game in the series. Developed in collaboration with George R. R. Martin, the action RPG is easily one of the most highly-anticipated games this year.
Now, ahead of its launch tomorrow, reviews have started pouring in and it looks like From Soft has yet another hit on its hands. Almost all the major publications in the world have given it a perfect rating. With some even calling it “the best open-world game to be ever made”
Currently, Elden Ring stands as the highest-rated game of all time on OpenCritic, with a score of 97. It shares a similar score on MetaCritic as well. Virtually, everyone who’s played the game has given it a perfect score. This sort of wide consensus was only seen with games like Skyrim and Red Dead Redemption 2.
Just like every other From Software game, the lore behind Elden Ring can be difficult to decipher. Writer George R. R. Martin along with Hidetaka Miyazaki has created a world called ‘Lands Between.’ Here, we take on the role of Tarnished, who’s tasked with seeking the shards, restoring the ring and ultimately becoming the Elden Lord.
In case you’ve pre-ordered the game in India, you can start your console journey from midnight itself. However, PC players will have to wait till 11.30 am in the morning for access.
