Almost a year ago, I started a weekly post titled ‘Stylish Men of the Week’ on our Instagram, and I officially turned into a stalker. As fun as it sounds, fashion isn’t easy. It takes hours to find the best-dressed men every week, and it gets even more challenging when these men serve style inspiration with every new outfit.
We witnessed some of the best fashion trends this year, from the bizarre Astro Boy shoes to Barbiecore, which left Barbie screaming for a black dress. Everyone talked about quiet luxury, but it’s not so quiet anymore. What we experienced was an unstoppable wave of fashion that is just getting bigger. For now, let’s take a moment and celebrate some famous faces who kept us inspired with their style throughout 2023.
Ranveer Singh
No style list is complete without Ranveer Singh. He’s the ultimate style icon in the Indian film industry, seamlessly carrying over-the-top fits and sartorial looks with great panache. He consistently dazzles, from showcasing a typical Delhi boy’s take on a closet filled with Gucci and LV to earning applause for his sartorial Gaurav Gupta look at Tiffany’s store launch in NY.
Sidharth Malhotra
Siddharth Malhotra effortlessly embodies style, seamlessly transitioning from a Chikankari kurta, paired with a shawl, to the swanky Anamika Khanna blue suit he donned at Koffee with Karan (KWK). Malhotra’s versatility not only shines through in his acting but also in his distinctive and confident approach to fashion.
Shahid Kapoor
Despite starring in a movie titled Daddy this year, he effortlessly exudes a youthful vibe when he embraces his off-duty look, easily passing off as someone in his 20s. His style game has consistently been smooth and effortless, much like his dance moves in movies.
Babil Khan
While he left a lasting impression with his brief yet impactful performance in ‘Kala,’ his style has garnered equal admiration from the younger audience.
Vijay Varma
While you might harbor disdain for his role in Darlings, it’s hard not to appreciate Vijay Varma for his impeccable fashion choices. Whether donning Rimzim Dadu or Gaurav Gupta, he possesses the ideal stature to elegantly showcase the creations of Indian designers. Undoubtedly, a darling in the world of fashion.
Vicky Kaushal
If you’re familiar with the term ‘Brown Boys’ on Instagram, Vicky Kaushal can be the perfect embodiment of it. A cool desi boy with killer looks and an enviable beard; Vicky’s tall and well-built, and most importantly, a solid actor. Moreover, he effortlessly looks dapper in suits and everything else.
Ayushmann Khurrana & Aparshakti Khurana
Cool, preppy, and chic perfectly encapsulate this style. Ayushmaan began as an underdog, rising to dominate the industry with his exceptional acting skills, while Aparshakti had already captured our hearts during his days as a VJ. A special thanks to stylists Isha Bhansali and Jay Samuel for skillfully bringing out the best in these stylish brothers.
Pulkit Samrat
With impeccable comedy timing ( as showcased in Fukrey) and undeniable charm in his style, Pulkit’s a master of his craft. His keen sense of fashion ensures you’ll never catch him in an ill-fitting or mismatched outfit. This year, he made a notable appearance in an episode of Made in Heaven, where Sarfaraz Khan’s talent shone through.
Rahul Khanna
Rahul Khanna effortlessly carries off diverse styles, appearing just as attractive in a skirt as he does in a tuxedo. A living embodiment of what many aspire to be in their 50s, he consistently brings out the best in every outfit. In his role in Lost as a politician, he exuded charm in a bandi, and on other occasions, his solid casuals and delightful breakfast stories never fail to bring joy.
Ahan Shetty
2023 was an eventful year for this young gentleman. His sister Athiya tied the knot, and Ahan made a stylish statement in an Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla sherwani. For the reception, he radiated glamour in a sleek ensemble by Rohit Gandhi and Rahul Khanna. Additionally, the 27-year-old was seen in an H&M campaign. All in all, it was a year of chic and memorable moments for Ahan.
Ishaan Khatter
Ishaan Khattar exudes a distinctive sense of self, apparent in both his on-screen and off-screen style. He effortlessly carries off any look with ease. Earlier this year, Ishaan made a notable appearance at the India Couture Week alongside Shobhita Dhulipala. Whether it’s his choice of attire or his individualistic personality, the young actor confidently embraces every facet of his identity.
Dulquer Salmaan
He effortlessly blends the best of both worlds as one of the most distinguished and attractive actors from the southern film industry. Dulquer Salmaan ensures that every outfit he wears stands out in the crowd. Whether it’s his casual chic appearance with bombers and Ford glasses or his refined look in a tailored bandgala, Dulquer Salmaan’s style is sleek and sexy.
Vijay Deverakonda
Recently, he reintroduced his Indian streetwear brand ‘RWDY,’ emphasizing his deep commitment to the world of fashion. The actor from Khushi has a particular fondness for cotton shirts and is frequently spotted in stylish kurtas. Furthermore, his adept accessorizing skills add an extra touch of flair to his overall look.
Allu Arjun
Allu Arjun exudes an edgy charm in his personality, and this observation isn’t solely based on ‘Pushpa’. The National Award-winning actor possesses a distinct and stylish flair, and his confidence elevates his overall appearance. Whether he’s rocking a lungi or donning a three-piece suit, Allu Arjun’s style spectrum is as diverse and dynamic as his acting prowess.
Ishwak Singh
From a cute chef in ‘Made in Heaven 2’ to a cop in Patal Lok, Ishwak Singh is a charmer. We are in a soft boy era and he is our ambassador.
Chiyan Vikram
Having witnessed his performance in PS II, it’s surprising to imagine Chiyan Vikram donning a red suit or a co-ord set. Despite his serious on-screen demeanour, he possesses an incredible sense of style, bordering on flamboyance. Yet, he carries it off with unwavering confidence and grace.
