Maniesh Paul: The Actor’s Morning Routine

The funny guy has big (fitness) plans for 2024

Anchor-actor Maniesh Paul might be blessed with the gift of the gab, but he’s certain that there wasn’t any luck at play that got him to look the way he currently does. The 42-year-old, who’d beefed up for his recent OTT release Rafuchakkar, believes the new year will see him set higher benchmarks when it comes to fitness. “2024 will be a year of massive body transformation for me,” he shares, as we get him to spill his daily rituals and grooming secrets.

How do you start your mornings?

Maniesh Paul: I’m an early riser. I’m usually up by 6 am. My day starts with a cup of green tea. I love reading the newspaper and spending an hour all by myself upon waking up.

What’s sitting on your bathroom shelf?

MP: My toothbrush, a room freshener, hand wash, hand cream and lip balm.

Your go-to day and night fragrances.

MP: Creed Aventus Eau De Parfum and Chanel Allure Homme Sport Eau De Toilette Spray. And you’ll always find something from Hermès on my shelf.

How do you like your coffee?

MP: I love it strong. So, yeah, black coffee.

What does breakfast look like?

MP: Nothing too heavy. Mostly eggs—either boiled or an omelette.

What’s your workout like?

MP: One hour of workout every day is unnegotiable and is usually a mix of functional and weight training.

Different news portals you like checking out in the morning?

MP: I’m a newspaper guy. But, I avidly follow Faye D’Souza and the NDTV News.

Morning music

MP: I can’t say morning, but my all-day music has got to be Punjabi music. I’m a true-blue Punjabi guy.

What are you currently reading?

MP: ‘Greenlights’ by Matthew McConaughey

Three things we’ll always find on your nightstand

MP: I like a decluttered nightstand. So, you’ll only find a bottle of water and my pillow mist.

Grooming essentials you swear by and a recent find you’d recommend?

MP: I’m currently using and loving this face mist by Forest Essentials, and I believe everyone must use lip balm.
