Reebok’s brand new Zig Kinetica, is a winning silhouette that scores high on design, style and utility, making it an effortless gym-to-streets piece.
So, let’s talk about the hardware first. Reebok’s ZigTech technology was first introduced in the ZigPulse from 2010 and it has been the hallmark of cutting edge technology and futuristic design. For 2020, Reebok is offering the Zig Kinetica, which contains the performance of the ZigTech while boasting a new design that is modern and versatile. It is built around a distinct zigzag-shaped, energy-return sole that channels and returns kinetic energy. Basically, incorporating the phrase ‘the more you give, the more you get’ in the most literal way. When I took the pair out for a run, the results were excellent. The cushioning is fantastic and it definitely reduced strike effort with every step, allowing me to push forward faster and harder. The sturdy but pliable outer sole makes sure, quite literally, there’s a spring in every step, making sure that the shoe supports your effort and pushes you forward. Lastly, the comfort is beautifully balanced and the shoe is a great companion even for non-marathon or competitive runners like me.
On the fashion and design aspect, the Zig Kinetica is a stylish statement pair which has no qualms standing out from the crowd. The all-red pair can be seamlessly styled with any look – don them with a smart suit for a semi-formal work affair, it can be paired with a tee-jacket-denims outfit for a casual brunch or date, I would love to style with an all-black outfit and it can be a flaming hot cheeto along with a risque pleather affair too. Remember to stock up on a lot of silver accessories and you are golden. The Zig Kinetica is versatile and can be styled into a good boy look, but can also be a part of a risk-taker’s wardrobe. It does not look clunky, is extremely comfortable for all sorts of terrains and, trust me, the compliments keep coming in. I’d know.
