The world’s fastest man, Usain Bolt, scored his first ever goal as a football player, during a friendly pre-season match against Macarthur South West. In the 55th minute of the game, Usain scored a goal with a low left-footer and scored for the second time at the 68th minute when he capitalized on a defensive error. Bolt gave his trademark pose after scoring the goal.
“My first start and scoring two goals, it’s a good feeling,” Bolt said after the game. “I’m happy I could come here and show the world I’m improving. I’m keen to be a Mariner, to play my best and get into the team.”
The former 8-time Olympic gold medal winner, joined the Central Coast Mariners on trial in hopes to get a contract.
Bolt sported the No. 95 on his back, a reference to his world record time. The athlete maintained to last for the majority of the match, but still needs to work more on his skills if he needs to impress the Mariners to get his A-League contract.
