Delhi Capitals’ opener Prithvi Shaw has just bought himself a luxurious apartment on Bandra Reclamation for Rs 10.50 crore. Shaw paid Rs 52.50 lakh as stamp duty for an eighth-floor apartment in ’81 Aureate, a high-rise project promoted by Pyramid Developers and Ultra Lifespaces.
The Indian batter will also get three exclusive parking slots. The carpet area of the apartment is over 2,000 sq ft and it has terrace area of 1,654 sq ft. The property was registered on March 31st, 2022, which meant Shaw didn’t have to pay the metro cess that the Maharashtra government implemented in Mumbai from April 2022.
Last Year, Bollywood actress Malaika Arora bought a flat in the same project for INR 14 crore. But she also filed a withdrawal application with mahaRERA after the developers delayed handing over the keys. Later on, the matter was resolved amicably by both parties.
Prithvi Shaw was acquired by his current franchise Delhi for Rs 2.5 crore. Ahead of the mega auction this year, Delhi paid over Rs 7 crore to retain him for IPL 2022. The cricketer rose to fame after leading India to U-19 World Cup glory in 2018, and he was fast-tracked into the national setup. The young prodigy justified his inclusion by hitting a century on his Test debut, against West Indies.
The Mumbai batter has made a name for himself with him performance irrespective of the format. Until last season, Shaw was one half of a deadly opening pair at Delhi Capitals, as he and Shikhar Dhawan worked brilliantly to intimidate bowlers.
There was a lot of concern about Shaw’s form after Dhawan made a move to Punjab Kings but he proved everyone wrong by scoring the most number of runs for the franchise.
With T20 World Cup set to be played in Australia, Prithvi Shaw is seen as a first-choice backup opener for Team India.
