Pep Guardiola’s Champions League Curse Since 2018 Lifted By Yaya Toure’s Agent

With Erling Haaland at their disposal, City will back themselves to topple the defending champions

Yaya Toure’s agent, Dimitri Seluk, has reversed course by stating that a curse that was placed by “African Shamans” on Pep Guardiola in 2018 has recently been lifted.

Seluk had predicted that Guardiola would not win the Champions League again after calling upon African shamans to curse the Manchester City coach. However, Seluk has now requested that the jinx be lifted ahead of Manchester City’s semi-final clash against Real Madrid.

“I want to apologise for this matter. I think it is time for this bitterness to stop— and I know that Yaya feels the same because he wishes nothing but success for City. I can say that the spell has now been lifted by the shamans— and that I think City will win the Champions League under Pep,” said Seluk to The Mirror.

Seluk’s curse stemmed from the frustration after his client Toure was left on the sideline in his last season at the club. Toure himself left the club on a sour note, and later claimed that he would cut a cake the day Guardiola picks up five African players in the league.

Seluk, however, now wants to put an end to this evil spell, and wants the City’s manager to achieve the unprecedented treble.

“They have a good chance of winning it this year. But whatever happens, they will definitely win it in the next three years. Do you remember when I once criticised City for not giving Yaya a cake on his birthday? Well, it is my birthday this month and my present is for this curse to be ended. In fact, it is my hope that City wins the Treble this season,” he added.

With Erling Haaland at their disposal, City will back themselves to topple the defending champions. The Norwegian has scored 12 goals in the Champions League and needs five more to match Cristiano Ronaldo’s record of 17 goals in a season.
