Manchester United may lose Cristiano Ronaldo for the next season, as the star forward has made himself available for the transfer. Ronaldo is frustrated with Man Utd’s lack of signings in the current transfer window, and is looking to make a move if better options arrive at his table.

The Athletic’s David Ornstein has reported that Ronaldo’s agent Jorge Mendes recently met Chelsea’s new owner Todd Boehly, who is keen to bring the Portuguese forward to Stamford Bridge. Chelsea have recently sold Romelu Lukaku back to Inter Milan, and they are in dire need of a striker for the next season.
Mendes has also offered Ronaldo to Bayern Munich but the club, having already bought Sadio Mane, rejected the proposal. Fabrizio Romano too reiterated that Mendes has met with several clubs for his client, but Manchester United doesn’t want to sell Ronaldo under any conditions.
Ronaldo, meanwhile, is totally on board with the vision of their new manager Erik Ten Haag but is supposedly frustrated with United’s business this summer. He also wants to spend the last few years of his career playing for a club that constantly features in Champions League.
“What I know about him is he did a fantastic job for Ajax, that he’s an experienced coach. But we need to give him time. Things need to change the way he wants. I hope we have success, of course, because, if you have success, all of Manchester is going to have success as well. I wish him the best.” said Ronaldo about his new manager.
While their rivals like Liverpool and Manchester City have already made the statement signings for the next season, United are yet to bring in anyone. They missed out on Darwin Nunez to Liverpool, while they have been unable to convince Frenkie de Jong so far.
Last season, he saved them from embarrassing defeats on countless occasions. Even at 37, he scored the most number of goals and helped the team finish sixth. United must be concerned over these rumours, given none of the players in the squad inspire enough confidence to replicate his goal-scoring prowess.
