Virat Kohli, captain of Team India, is one of the complete batsmen and influential people globally. He has been the captain of Team India for quite a few years now, and India has reached a stage where they have become so dominant at home and have performed unbelievably well in the away series. It can be seen in the series against Australia and the series against West Indies as well. India has become a country to be feared under Kohli, and there is still a long way to go for him and the country in all formats of the game.

The main test team of the country is in England and is enjoying their short vacation. This will genuinely help the players in the long term as they can prepare for a long bio-bubble with the team after this vacation/ break ends. On the other hand, Kohli is still thinking about cricket and the future, as he had requested the BCCI and the ECB to discuss amongst themselves and try and figure out practice matches for them. When they landed in the UK, Team India had only played an intra-squad match before their final of the inaugural World Test Championship. This might have given an advantage to the opposition as they had played two-match test series against England. Kohli didn’t want to go unprepared again before the start of the England test series. After a week or so’s negotiations between the two boards, they have concluded two tour games before starting the England series for India. No further details of the warm-up matches have been revealed now and announced once everything is finalized. These tour games might help India a lot and would increase their preparation to the next level. The team has to assemble on July 14, 2021, and enter the bio-bubble for the series. The team would undergo a small quarantine program and regular covid tests throughout the series. After the quarantine ends, they would be able to train in groups together, provided everyone is negative.

This is India’s best chance for a series win after the heroics of 2007, and the squad depth of India is of the highest level giving them the upper edge in the series. On the other hand, England has been faulty most of the time and would be looking to overcome the Indian challenge and continue their home prowess.
