Yo Yo Honey Singh’s wife Shalini Talwar has accused the singer-rapper of domestic violence. She has filed a plea against him in Delhi’s Tis Hazari court.

On Monday, according to ANI, Shalini Talwar filed a plea against the rapper in Delhi’s Tis Hazari court, accusing him of domestic violence. She alleged she was ‘subjected to numerous incidents of physical abuse, verbal, mental abuse and emotional abuse’, at the hands of Hirdesh Singh (known to us as Yo Yo Honey Singh), his parents and his younger sister.

Reports state that the case was registered today, August 3, before Ms Tania Singh Chief Metropolitan Magistrate.

The musician has till August 28 to respond.

In her 118-page complaint, she has accused him also of alcoholism and adultery in her petition. Moreover, she has alleged that he had ‘casual sex with multiple women’. According to her, he would not bring her along for tours and had stopped wearing his wedding ring, claiming diamonds brought him misfortune.

She mentioned that the differences between the two cropped up right from their honeymoon. He, according to her, started acting distant and even hit her when she confronted him about it.

They were wed on January 23, 2011, and recently celebrated their 10th wedding anniversary.

In her application, there is also a mention of the Slam Tour episode. Singh had begun have getting bouts of paranoia, blackouts, and confusion. He refused to go on stage to perform. Talwar has said that at that time he suffered anxiety attacks and while he was in his hotel room, she tried to calm him down and suggested he rest for a while and then go on stage as it was a professional commitment. However, she adds, Singh turned around, hit her and hurled abuses at her.

She has alleged that Singh used to get paid in cash but she was not made privy to the money. If Talwar’s estimation is correct, Singh would earn close to Rs 4 crore a month from songs, performances and royalties. It is around that time he got addicted to alcohol, drugs, and anabolic drugs.

Singh has also had a history of bipolar disorder.

For years, Singh’s fans did not know he was married. Talwar was introduced to the public for the first time in 2014 during an episode of the reality show, India’s Raw Star. They had secretly dated for almost two decades.

The musician has not addressed the allegations as of yet.
