Whatsapp Faces Global Outage; Twitter Reacts With Memes
WhatsApp Is Down And The Internet Is Coping With Memes

The messaging app has faced a global outage today. So far, there is no confirmation of when the servers will go online.

No, it is not your WiFi. Users all over the globe are reporting WhatsApp outage, which seems to have hit everyone at once. While there is no official confirmation on what led to it, an official Meta spokesperson has confirmed that the company is already working on resolving the issue. Users are unable to send messages to groups while private messages are showing only one tick.

The popular site, Downdetector, which tracks outages across websites and apps has reported a spike of over 25,000 reports of the messaging app being down. The outage began around 12.30pm and so far has shown no sign of being resolved. This isn’t the first time WhatsApp has suffered a downtime. The app infamously went offline for several hours after the acquisition with Meta (then Facebook) was finalised.

While we’re tracking down the latest update, here’s how the Internet has been coping without the messaging site.
